Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of the Vanefeed API, documentation and website (the "Service"), operated by HZ trading as Vanefeed ("we", "us"). By using an API key we issue, you agree to them. If you use the Service for a company, you confirm you can bind that company.

1. The Service

Vanefeed returns publicly available social-media and web content (posts, profiles, comments, search results and related counts) in a common JSON format, plus tracking of sources you ask us to follow. We collect only what is publicly visible; we do not access private accounts, direct messages or private groups.

2. Accounts and keys

• You get an API key when you sign up. Keys belong to your workspace: keep them secret, and roll a key from your dashboard (or tell us) straight away if one leaks.
• Free credits are one allowance per person or organisation. We may remove free credits from duplicate or abusive accounts.
• You're responsible for all use of your keys, including by your contractors and software.
• We may decline or revoke access, for example for misuse or non-payment.

3. Credits, payment and refunds

• Paid plans are prepaid credit packs, invoiced directly. Credits never expire while your account is in good standing.
• Only successful responses use credits. Failed calls, rejected calls, cache hits, price checks (dry_run) and usage checks are free. Every response states its cost.
• Prices may change for future purchases; credits you already bought keep their value.
• Refunds of unused credits are decided case by case. If we end the Service for reasons other than your breach, we refund unused paid credits.

4. Acceptable use

You may not use the Service or its data to:

• track, profile or surveil specific private individuals, or build profiles of people from sensitive characteristics (health, religion, sexuality, political views, ethnicity);
• harass, threaten, dox or discriminate against anyone;
• send spam, run fake engagement or manipulate elections or public discourse;
• resell or redistribute raw data as a competing dataset or API;
• break any law that applies to you, including data-protection law;
• probe, overload or work around the Service's security, rate limits or billing.

5. Your responsibilities for the data

Public content can still contain personal data. You are the controller of how you use what you receive: you must have a lawful basis for processing it, honour deletion and access requests that reach you, and respect the rights of the people and platforms involved. Platform content remains the property of its authors.

6. Availability

Platforms change their sites without notice, so collection can degrade or stop for a time. We publish live platform health at /v1/status and work to restore service quickly, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted access to any platform unless a written enterprise agreement says otherwise.

7. Changes to the API

The API is versioned (/v1). We add fields and endpoints without notice, but we give at least 90 days' notice before removing or renaming anything in a released version. See the versioning policy in the documentation.

8. Data we keep

We keep request logs, usage records and collected content to run, secure, bill and improve the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Suspension and termination

You can stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or end access for breach of these terms, legal risk or non-payment, normally with notice unless the breach is serious or urgent.

10. Disclaimers and liability

The Service is provided "as is". Data comes from third-party platforms and may be incomplete, delayed or inaccurate; estimated fields such as sentiment and intent are marked as estimates. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. For material changes we'll email account contacts at least 30 days ahead; continuing to use the Service after that means you accept them.
