Vanefeed vs the official Facebook API

Meta's Graph API reads pages you manage. Reading public content of pages you don't manage needs the Page Public Content Access feature, which requires app review and business verification.

Vanefeed reads public page content directly. Groups, profiles of private people and anything behind a login are out of scope.

Example

curl "https://api.vanefeed.com/v1/facebook/posts?handle=bbcnews&limit=20" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $VANEFEED_KEY"

Every platform answers in the same shape: data (posts with author, text, published_at, metrics and media), plus next_cursor for the next page. Add dry_run=true to see the price first, free.

Questions

Which Facebook data is available?

Public pages: page details, their posts with photos and videos, single posts and comments. Groups and personal profiles are out of scope.

How many posts can I get from a page?

Up to 200 of a page's newest posts, paged with cursor. Facebook serves them a few at a time, so deep reads take a few seconds per 20.

Can I search Facebook posts?

Yes, /v1/facebook/search?q=climate returns public posts matching the words, priced per 20 results returned.

Do failed calls cost credits?

No. Credits are only taken for successful answers, and every response shows what it cost in the X-Credits-Cost header. Repeats served from cache are free too.

Can I get sentiment with the data?

Yes: add sentiment=true to posts, comments or search and each result gets a positive, neutral or negative label with a confidence score, for 1 extra credit per 20 results.
