Vanefeed vs the official X (Twitter) API
The official X API charges for every post you read: on pay-per-use, about $5 per 1,000 posts, and its free tier is mostly for posting. A monitoring dashboard or study that reads a million posts a month pays thousands of dollars.
Vanefeed lists cost 2 credits per 20 results, so 1,000 posts cost about $0.10–$0.15 at published pack prices. See X API pricing in 2026 for the full comparison.

Questions
How much does it cost to read 1,000 X posts?
About $0.10–$0.15 with Vanefeed's credit packs (2 credits per 20 posts), compared with about $5 on the official X API's pay-per-use plan.
Does the search support boolean operators?
Yes: AND, OR, NOT, exact phrases, from:, to:, mentions, hashtags, date ranges, language, minimum likes and reposts, and Latest, Top or Media results.
Can I get followers of an X account?
Yes, /v1/x/followers and /v1/x/following return accounts with their follower counts, up to 1,000 per call, with a cursor for more.
Is it the official X API?
No. Vanefeed reads public X pages and returns them in its own schema. When X changes its site, calls fail fast and free while we fix the parser.
Do failed calls cost credits?
No. Credits are only taken for successful answers, and every response shows what it cost in the X-Credits-Cost header. Repeats served from cache are free too.
Can I get sentiment with the data?
Yes: add sentiment=true to posts, comments or search and each result gets a positive, neutral or negative label with a confidence score, for 1 extra credit per 20 results.
